Introduction:
Chicken Korma is one of the most popular dishes in Pakistani cuisine. It is a rich and creamy curry made with boneless chicken, yogurt, and spices. The dish is considered a comfort food by many and is often served with rice or roti.
Ingredients:
- -1 lb boneless chicken breast, cut into small pieces
- -1 cup plain yogurt
- -2 onions, chopped
- -4 cloves of garlic, minced
- -1 inch piece of ginger, minced
- -1 cup heavy cream
- -2 tbsp ghee or oil
- -1 tsp coriander powder
- -1 tsp cumin powder
- -1 tsp turmeric powder
- -1 tsp garam masala
- -1 tsp red chili powder
- -Salt, to taste
- -2 tbsp fresh cilantro, chopped for garnish
Instructions:
- In a large saucepan, heat the ghee or oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onions and sauté until they are golden brown.
- Add the minced garlic and ginger and sauté for another minute.
- Add the chicken pieces to the saucepan and cook until they are no longer pink.
- In a separate bowl, mix together the yogurt, coriander powder, cumin powder, turmeric powder, garam masala, red chili powder, and salt.
- Pour the yogurt mixture over the chicken and stir to coat the chicken evenly.
- Add the heavy cream to the saucepan and stir to combine.
- Cover the saucepan and simmer over low heat for 10-15 minutes or until the chicken is fully cooked.
- Stir in the chopped cilantro and serve hot with rice or roti.
